Description
Provita Hoofsure Micellerate 20 Litres is the next generation hoof solution.
Provita Hoofsure Micellerate 20 Litres has been specifically designed and formulated to both clean and care for hooves. It is a preparation based on organic acids, tea tree oil and wetting agents. Provita Hoofsure Micellerate reduces the bacterial load around the treated area. It is intended for use as part of a hoof maintenance programme. Hoof health is dependent on good nutrition, hygiene, management and heard health care. Use of a footbath is only one part of any hoof health programme.
Directions for use:
Cattle: For footbath use – mix Provita Hoofsure Micellerate 1:100 (1% solution) e.g. 2 litres of Provita Hoofsure Micellerate with 200 litres clean water in a 200 litre footbath. When required a 2% solution may be used. Ideally, use a pre-bath to wash dirt and manure off cows feet prior to walking through the Micellerate solution. For optimum results, use at every milking every day. Alternatively use the following guideline frequency:
| Frequency of footbathing per week | ||
| HERD SIZE | Minimum | Maximum |
| 1-99 | 3 | At each milking |
| 100-199 | 4 | |
| 200+ | 5 | |
Up to 750 cow passes are achievable through a single 200 litre footbath fill provided a minimum depth is maintained – 5 inch depth or above at all times. Check depth of solution every 100 cows and top up as necessary, using a 1% solution (i.e. mix 100ml Micellerate with 10 litres of water and add to footbath).
Sheep: Mix Provita Hoofsure Micellerate 1:100 (1% solution) e.g. 2 litres of Provita Hoofsure Micellerate with 200 litres clean water in a 200 litre footbath. When required, a 2% solution may be used. At each application, walk sheep through a 1% solution of Micellerate. Where necessary, conduct a second walkthrough or stand sheep in the footbath for up to 5 minutes. After footbathing, ensure that sheep are turned out onto pasture that has not been grazed for 16 days or more.
| Frequency of footbathing | ||
| Lambs | Ewes | |
| At housing | Weekly | Weekly |
| At grass | Every 2 – 4 weeks | Every 2 – 6 weeks |
Up to 700 sheep passes are achievable through a single 100 litre footbath fill provided a minimum depth is maintained – 3 inch depth or above at all times. Check depth of solution every 200 sheep and top up as necessary, using a 1% solution (i.e. mix 100ml Micellerate with 10 litres of water and add to footbath).
Diluted product should be disposed after 750 cow passes/ 700 sheep passes or 48hrs, whichever is soonest.
General: To ensure correct dilution rate, calibrate the foot bath – [length (cm) x breadth (cm) x height (cm)] – divided by 1000 to give volume in litres. Do not use in galvanised footbaths.
